Chanel's Instagram page has been in an existence for some time, but it hasn't been officially managed by the brand - until now.

The French fashion house joined Instagram on Monday - and its page already has a cool 1.8 million followers.

The launch tied in with Chanel's star-studded event in New York to celebrate the debut screening of 'N°5 The Film ' by Baz Luhrmann, starring supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

While all eyes were on the Brazilian supermodel busting out some killer poses in front of the camera, Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld made sure the guest list was just as glamorous.

Anna Wintour was there shoulder-robing a beautiful green fur-trim coat in true editor-in-chief style, Lily Allen proved that Chanel tweed can be paired with purple hair and Poppy Delevingne played it super chic in a sheer print maxi dress.

Then there were models Karlie Kloss, Lily Donaldson, Lily Aldridge and Caroline de Maigret (to name a few) just generally looking stunning. And carrying dreaming Chanel handbags, but of course.

Take a look at some of the photos Chanel shared on Instagram. Warning: you'll wish you had been there, you'll want to be Gisele (in every way) and - wining and dining with Karl himself will be on your mind all day.
