iPad Air 2 And iPad Mini 3 Price, Release Date And Network Availability

How Much Is The New iPad And Where Can I Buy It?

Apple has unveiled the iPad Air 2. Just weeks after unveiling the iPhone 6 the company has a new tablet andit's -- if you can believe it -- even thinner than the last iPad Air. Measuring in at just 6.1mm thin and it has a release date of well, today.

As well as the iPad Air 2 the company unveiled an updated iPad Mini 3 which brings Touch ID and a new gold colour scheme to the smaller Apple tablet.

So what do you get with the new iPad Air 2? Well it has been drastically redesigned on the inside with Apple using a new powerful A8X processor. If you're wondering how much of a step up that is then the new iPad Air 2 is capable of managing three times the computing power that the original iPad Air was capable of.

As well as power the company has updated the screen. While the resolution remains the same Apple has bonded the display to the glass allowing the tablet to be thinner while also reducing reflectivity by over 50 per cent.

Finally the company has given the front and rear-facing cameras an update with a powerful iSight camera on the back and a 2.2MP iSight camera on the front.

What networks will sell the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3?

Well as you'd expect, all the major UK networks have confirmed that they'll both be supporting, and selling the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

Supported networks:

What remains to be seen however is how many of the networks will sign up to Apple's new built-in SIM on the iPad Air 2.

While given little publicity at the launch event, the iPad Air 2 can feature a built-in SIM card which means that you simply designate which network and short-term contract you want to join and the SIM automatically configures to that plan.

Want to switch? Not a problem, the SIM simply changes to the new network and plan. At the moment we know EE are on board but as soon as we have confirmation from the other networks we'll update this piece.
