The fashion world has paid tribute to Oscar de la Renta, following the news of his death.
Some of the world’s biggest designers, models and stars who have worn and appreciated his iconic designs have all paid their respects to the legend of the fashion world, after the news broke that he had died at his Connecticut home at the age of 82.

Throughout his life, Oscar’s designs were worn by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Sarah Jessica Parker - both on screen as Carrie Bradshaw in ‘Sex and the City’ and in real life - and Rihanna, as well as politician and former First Lady, Hillary Clinton, who has also paid an emotional tribute to the late fashion designer.
A joint statement from the Clinton family said: “His singular talent and exquisite taste elevated American fashion, and his warmth and friendship will be missed by our family and all whose lives he touched in his extraordinary journey.
“We will always be grateful to Oscar for the love he showed us, and for sharing his talent on some of the most important occasions of our lives.”
More recently, he designed the wedding gown worn by British human rights lawyerAmal Alamuddin, when she tied the knot with George Clooney in Venice last month.
