Scarves: 13 Snug Styles To See You Through This Winter

It's officially scarf-wearing season.

In fact, it's out with the entire Autumn/Winter wardrobe because it's got pretty chilly outside. Like the coats from this season's catwalk collections, the vibe is oversized and super-luxe.

Layering up is obvious at this time of year - as are woolly tights and leg warmers - but don't be afraid to go OTT with this. Chunky knits over polo-necks worn under a fabulous fur faux coat with a snug scarf and knee-high boots is a really good look.

If you're hot on taking your style pointers from the runway, then do the hair tucked underneath the scarf thing. (You accidentally, on purpose did it that way.)

There's something about being draped in a cosy scarf that is both practical and put together. It will keep you toasty at all times and completes any winter look, whether you're a gilet, bomber or trench coat kind of girl.

You can, of course, match your scarf with the rest of your outerwear - the blue on blue (as above) definitely works. Otherwise bring in some texture, like the faux brown fox fur stole from Topshop (£28) or the coloured lambswool scarf from Whistles (£55).

Blanket scarves are a huge deal this winter. Burberry models Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Suki Waterhouse made us want to wrap ourselves in the nearest throw and never take it off.

Asos and Zara are packed with tartan/striped styles big enough to sweep over and around your shoulders, but H&M is you go-to for a bright knit tube scarf.
