People are doing pretty much everything with drones now, from taking selfies (basic), recreating Star Wars (advanced) and delivering packages to mysterious islands in the North Sea (we have a winner).
And so of course someone is making porn with them.
The result is 'Drone Boning', a somewhat on-the-nose project to capture humans doing what comes naturally, out in the open, with flying robots.
Motherboard reports on the movie, which "started as a funny commentary on privacy and voyeurism" but "quickly became a conceptual grounding".
It features various shots of people appearing to have sex in a variety of positions and gender combinations, set in some admittedly beautiful scenery including mountains, farms and beaches, from a height of about 100 feet.
The film, which is clearly not safe for work can be watched at the project's official site.
In the interview with Motherboard, Brandon LaGanke (one of the filmmakers at Ghost+Cow Films) said that the aim was to create a "Where's Wally" effect, where the sex is almost incidental to the scene as a whole. He also relates a somewhat troubling incident in which a local walking their dog stumbled on one of the shots being filmed from above.
UPDATE: A previous version of this story said that the people appearing in the film were professional porn actors. We have since been contacted by a member of the cast, who said that they were in fact volunteers who answered an online ad to appear in the film. We apologise for the error.
