Astronauts on the International Space Station have captured what might be some of the most stunning aurora footage yet as they passed over New Zealand.
The utterly beautiful display was captured in a time lapse video adding to the numerous videos and pictures that the team have been able to take of the phenomenon.

Recently astronaut Reid Wiseman was able to capture this stunning vine of the aurora as it happens proving that if you're in space, you really do have the best view.
Of course as with anything to do with space, or indeed anything, there have been a large number of aurora fakes popping up but thankfully a fake like this...
