Not only is Abbey Clancy Cosmopolitan's January cover star, but she won the Ultimate Style Icon gong at the magazine's Ultimate Women Awards on Wednesday night.

The 28-year-old model opted for edgy-elegant red carpet style and wore a black double breasted Prada trouser suit. She paired her look with patent stilettos and oversized black and gold earrings by Giuseppe Zanotti - now this is how to do androgynous glamour.

The sleek down 'do, the sexy (but subtle) cat-eyes and the glossy lip proved one thing - less is always more.

Accepting her award onstage Abbey said, "I feel a bit silly collecting this in the company of such amazing women tonight. I never thought I would be called a style icon."

Sharp style and all modesty when it comes to taking a bow - we like how this gal rolls.

The secret to mastering the tuxedo trend is keeping it simple, so teaming a tailored look with minimal make up and accessories is key. We'll be following Abbey's lead on this one.

Other celebrity ladies at last night's ceremony included hostess with the mostess Fearne Cotton, Davina McCall (who won the Editor's Choice award), Mel B (who scooped TV Personality) and The Saturdays (who received the Fabulous Friends award).
