The 2015 Pantone Colour Of The Year Is...

It's that time again. Pantone has announced its 2015 Colour of the Year is Marsala.

While the names of previous Colours of the Year have been more obvious - we've enjoyed Radiant Orchid in 2014 (also known as purple) and before that, 2013 was all about Emerald Green - Marsala is a little more mysterious.

Is it brown? Er, not quite. In the words of the brand, Marsala is "a naturally robust and earthy wine red."

The fashion pack will be pleased. The hearty shade was seen at the Spring/Summer 2015 shows, including Hervé Léger by Max Azria and Louis Vuitton. (We knew marron glacé was the colour to invest in for the season ahead.)

It also lends itself well to beauty too - we can just imagine it as a shimmering brick red lip colour or perhaps as a smoky eyeshadow shade.

So, what's your verdict? Will you be embracing Pantone's new colour next year? Let us know your thoughts @MyDailyUK and catch up on more Spring/Summer 2015 trends with our slideshow below:
