An enterprising Star Wars fan has designed a collection of Lego figures – 12 months before the new Star Wars movie is even released.

Miniature creator David Hall is capitalising on fans' thirst for merchandise for the mega movie franchise with a selection of Lego characters from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

And he's selling them on the American fan site MiniFigs4U four around £20 each - just in time for Christmas!

His figures imagine what the official Star Wars toys will look like when they are released to coincide with the launch of the blockbuster in December 2015.

David's Lego features characters from The Force Awakens trailer, including John Boyega's character Finn, who appeared as a helmet-less stormtrooper in the trailer.

He uploaded the photos from his Flickr account, which also included Oscar Issac's character Poe Dameron.

The Noble Faction, the Geonosis Flame Thrower, ethereal warriors and scenes from the film also feature.

However the mysterious villain and Sith warrior named Kylo Ren is not featured in the impressions.

The figures sell for around £20 each.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, directed by JJ Abrams, will be released on December 18.

Watch the official trailer – which has been viewed more than 48 million times (yes, it's going to be a HUGE movie!) below.

The trailer has also – inevitably – been re-made in Lego. YouTube user Snooperking recreated the preview shot for shot in Lego.

He told viewers that the clip had taken him 12 hours to put together, explaining that he made it 'because I had nothing else to do today'.
