It turns out that Ben Haenow’s ‘X Factor’ victory was less of a surprise than any of us realised, after the voting figures for each week of the competition have emerged.

Ben has now been revealed as the act who received the most votes from the public in a whopping seven of this year’s ten live shows - including last week’s semi-final, when it had been thought that Fleur East had stolen the show with her performance of ‘Uptown Funk’.
For the first three weeks of the live shows, Andrea Faustini was the act to win the most votes from the public, before being overtaken by Ben in week four, who remained the most popular with viewers right until he snatched the crown in Sunday night’s final.

He was named this year’s ‘X Factor’ champion after receiving 57.2% of the votes, compared to Fleur’s 34.3% and Andrea’s 8.5%.
Last year’s winner was also from the over 25s category, with Sam Bailey bagging 53% of the votes, over finalists Luke Friend and Nicholas McDonald.
Ben’s winner’s single, a cover of OneRepublic’s ‘Something I Need’, is available to download from iTunes now, with proceeds from the single going towards the charity Together For Short Lives.
Over the weekend it was reported that Simon Cowell might be about to sign up Fleur East to his Syco record label, even though she wasn’t the overall winner, which he has done in the past for acts such as One Direction, Ella Henderson and Tamera Foster.
