According to Page Six, a former assistant of the pop diva is seeking a “significant amount of money” in compensation, after filing a lawsuit against her, claiming that over the seven-year period she worked for Mariah, she was treated unfairly.

Ylser Oliver, who filed the lawsuit in New York, alleges that she was made to work 16-hour days every day of the week, without being paid overtime for her extra work.

“My client is a very hardworking woman who treated Mariah and her family like her own, working all hours of the day and night. Even celebrities are required to abide by the law.”

Among Ylser’s duties as Mariah’s assistant were cleaning her house in New York, packing her suitcases and tending to her “personal needs” - though she claims she is entitled to more money than she was paid, and even says she was not given meal breaks while under her employment.

This lawsuit is the latest blow for Mariah, whose recent live vocals have failed to impress the public like she did during her heyday.

She has also been hit with rumours about the state of her marriage, with reports claiming that she and Nick Cannon had gone their separate ways, though when quizzed about it by a reporter in the street, she fabulously said: “It’s too hot out here to talk, sweetie.”
