This video, released by the European Space Agency, shows Earth at it's most beautiful, showcasing stunning natural phenomena like the Northern Lights.

German astronaut Alexander Gerst captured these incredible timelapse videos during a six month term on the International Space Station.

Gerst used 12,500 pictures to create the six minute film, picking up thunderstorms, city lights and sunrises from awe-inspiring angles.
