Madonna has denied racism, after fans accused her of being disrespectful by posting altered images of Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and Bob Marley on Instagram.

Since releasing her ‘Rebel Heart’ tracks early, Madge has taken to sharing pictures with the rope that covers her face on the album artwork photoshopped onto other famous faces.
While her decision to adorn a snap of Lady Gaga with the rope was largely applauded by Instagram users, fans were not so impressed with the images of black icons.
On the picture of Neslon Madela, one fan has commented: “This is so wrong. If he wanted to take pictures like this he would've. You can't photoshop things onto other greats to try to promote yourself when that isn't what they were about.”
Another adds: “No, Madonna, just no.”
A number of fans also took to Twitter to discuss the controversial snaps, with many accusing the Queen of Pop of racism.
However not everybody agreed:
Now, Madge has a posted a statement on Facebook, explaining her decision to share the pictures.
Before pointing out that she also posted similar images of stars with other ethnic backgrounds, she writes: “I'm admiring and acknowledging there Rebel Hearts. This is niether a crime or an insult or racist!” [sic]
