Nutella Recipe: How To Make Your Own Chocolate Spread

Love Nutella? Who bloomin' doesn't? But we'd be lying if we said we didn't feel a tiny prang of guilt when we pop it in our trolly during the big shop at the weekend.

Let's face it, it's a teeny tiny bit pricey when you plan on consuming an entire jar in one go with the first utensil you pull out of the kitchen drawer.

But what if you could make a big batch of it yourself and stockpile it at home as if you were J Sainsbury himself!? This delicious, lip-smacking recipe is all you need to create your own version...

You will need:

100g hazelnuts

100g milk chocolate

100g dark chocolate

140g icing sugar

65g cocoa powder

a pinch of salt

1tsp of vanilla essence

4tbsp of vegetable oil

STEP 1: Roast

Roast the hazel nuts in the oven at 180°C until golden brown.

STEP 2: Melt

Gently melt together the dark and milk chocolate.

STEP 3: Blitz together

Crush the roasted hazelnuts in a blender. Then add the icing sugar, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla essence and melted chocolate. Blitz again while gradually adding the vegetable oil.

STEP 4: Set

Once completely cool, leave in the fridge to set.

And then it's to for the best bit - scoff away!
