Woman Killed Walking Along Motorway

A woman has died after being hit by vehicle as she walked along the M25 in the early hours of this morning, police have said.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the fatal collision, which happened at around 2.50am this morning.

The woman was walking near the slip road at Junction 13 at Staines-upon-Thames when she is believed to have been struck by a vehicle travelling along the busy motorway.

The M25 is closed anti-clockwise from Junction 14 at Heathrow Airport to Junction 12 at Chertsey and Surrey Police warned it will remain shut for "some time".

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.

Police are asking for any for witnesses to contact them on 101, quoting incident reference P15008681.
