A dying teen with just days to live has been granted his final wish of taking his girlfriend to prom after his school reorganised the whole event.
Jak Trueman, 15, wasn't expected to make it through the night when his health deteriorated on Thursday.
Thanks to more than 200 teachers and students at West Calder High, West Lothian, he was able to fulfill his promise of taking long-time girlfriend Hannah Boyd to their prom.
On a large dose of painkillers, Jak was able to enter the event to a standing ovation and cheers, but needed to leave after 10 minutes.
Jak's mother Alison Barr, 44, said: "He managed to make the evening for 10 minutes through wonderful courage and determination.
"Jak and Hannah are exceptionally close and I think it is absolutely magical that the school brought the prom forward, what they have done this for both of them.
"It is overwhelming what the school has arranged."
Jak was diagnosed with terminal Gammadelta T-Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer, in August. He has dedicated his final months to raising funds for charities specialising in his condition so others can benefit.
