Anonymous Hacks ISIS? Collective Posts Huge List Of Compromised Twitter And Email Accounts

Anonymous Claims Devastating ISIS Hack

A group of hackers claiming to be linked to Anonymous says it has breached hundreds of Twitter accounts, emails and websites operated by the terrorist group ISIS.

ISIS has been noted for its focus on recruiting members and promoting itself via social media.

But now individuals working under the banner of the hacking collective say ‘#OpISIS’ has taken its first big chunk of ISIS-operated accounts offline.

Anonymous says the campaign is aimed squarely at the “virus” of terrorists in Syria and Northern Iraq.

"ISIS, we will hunt you, take down your sites, accounts, emails and expose you,” the group said in a statement.

“You will be treated like a virus, and we are the cure. We own the internet. Remember – the terrorists that are calling themselves Islamic State (ISIS) are not Muslims."

The group posted details on PasteBin of dozens of Twitter and email accounts it had apparently compromised or taken offline, along with Facebook profiles, website address and other online presences.

"We are Muslims, we are Christians, we are Jews, we are hackers... We come from all races, countries, religions, and ethnicity."

"We are hackers, crackers, hacktivists, phishers, agents, spies, or just the guy from next door. We are students, administrators, workers, clerks, unemployed, rich, poor. We are young, or old, gay or straight. We wear smart clothes or Uggs. We come from all races, countries, religions, and ethnicity. United as one, divided by zero. We are Anonymous".

However it is difficult to establish independently how much of the group’s claims are accurate - many of the accounts are now offline and it is unclear when they were last active.
