In between running the search engine on which almost all modern life currently depends, Google has some time on its hands apparently. Which is why it just released this video of the “Android Chorus” - or 300 Android devices each combining to sing Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, the final movement of the Ninth Symphony.
Each of the phones is portrayed by a different Android character from its “Be Together. Not the Same” campaign.
Google said:
“A lot of people play music on their phones. But what about using those phones to make music?
Over in Tokyo, the Google Japan team gave it a go — stringing together 300 smartphones and tablets with 300 different Androidify characters singing the same song using only the device speakers. We call it “Android Chorus.”
If you happen to be in Tokyo, you can see the chorus perform from Thursday, February 12 to Sunday, February 15 at Omotesando Hills.”
It's neat, but we think a single dot matrix printer can still pull off a better - if more infuriating - version.
