Sam's debut single 'Skyscraper' stormed to the top of the UK singles chart when it was released in 2013, which was followed by a number-one album of covers in March last year.

However, despite her chart success, it has now been reported that Sam and Simon have now parted ways, with a spokesperson confirming to The Sun: "Sam Bailey is no longer with Syco".

Luckily the former prison guard, who admitted in December that her future with the record company was uncertain, doesn't seem bitter about her time with Syco coming to an end, telling the newspaper: "I’m happy I got my house extension - that’s what I entered the competition for."

She went on to say that she'd already thought about future projects, admitting she wouldn't mind strapping on her dancing shoes and defecting to the BBC.

“I would also maybe like to get into acting and I would love to do 'Strictly Come Dancing'.”

Of the 11 acts who have now won 'The X Factor', only two are still signed to Simon's label, Little Mix and Ben Haenow, who was last year's victor, ahead of Fleur East, who has also been signed up to the label.
