Ukip Is The 'Most-Hated Brand' In The UK - And Conservatives And Labour Aren't Far Behind

The One Thing Britain Hates More Than Marmite...

Here's another prize for Nigel Farage after he was named "Briton of the Year" by The Times in 2014. But this award is not quite so appealing.

His party Ukip has beaten Marmite, Ryanair and Starbucks to be named as the UK's most-hated brand, research from advertising agency Isobel has shown.

Farage is even less loved than Marmite

The nationally representative survey asked 1,500 people for their thoughts on which brands they most love and hate - and other political parties join Ukip in the list of our 10 most-despised brands, alongside corporations such as McDonalds.

The Tories were the second most-hated brand while Labour placed fifth and the Liberal Democrats came in sixth.

Paul Houlding, managing partner of Isobel said: “It will come as no shock to anyone (least of all the politicians themselves) that the political parties are all in the same unloved boat [as Marmite] but will it concern them?

"When it comes to polling day, are we voting for the party we love or are we voting for the party of most use?”

Meanwhile, the research gave a more favourable position to Cadbury, Walkers and ITV which were all among the most-loved brands, with Amazon topping the list. Tesco was also named among the most-loved: despite its dire financial performance and reports of dodgy accounting.
