There were plenty of oohs and aaahs from the HuffPost Entertainment team when we clapped eyes on Lupita Nyong’o’s stunning dress on the Oscars’ red carpet last week, and it appears we weren’t the only ones who were rather taken with it.
The custom-made Calvin Klein dress, which was studded with 6,000 natural white pearls and is worth £97,000, has gone AWOL.

The frock was reportedly stolen from Lupita’s room at the London Hotel in West Hollywood while the actress was out of the room.
A statement from the hotel said they were "working with law enforcement", while Lieutenant William Nash, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said officers were checking CCTV footage.
"Ms Nyong'o was not in the room at the time of the theft," Deputy John Mitchell told Reuters.
The dress, designed by Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, took 25 people 10 weeks to hand-sew the 6,000 Akoya pearls onto it.
On the Oscars red carpet on Sunday, the Kenyan-born actress told Associated Press she was "just wearing my diamonds and pearl” as a homage to Prince.
Speaking about the dress design, the 31-year-old said: "We talked about it being fluid and liquid. I wanted it to be an homage to the sea."
The ‘12 Years A Slave’ star isn’t the first person to fall victim to a high profile fashion theft.
In 2013, jewellery worth a million dollars was stolen from a hotel in Nice, after model Cara Delevingne wore them to the Cannes Film Festival.
