Some of the most dramatic new imagery was collected using a research zipline in the Amazon rainforest, in Brazil.
There are also images from the river itself, and various communities that live on its shores.
It's the latest experiment by Google to bring new vistas and experiences to Street View; in the past it's introduced images from below the ocean and some of the most remote islands on the planet.
