‘EastEnders' Spoiler: Jim Branning's Funeral To Take Place, A Year After Actor John Bardon's Death (PICS)

Spoiler! 'EastEnders' Cast Film Emotional Funeral Scenes

The ‘EastEnders’ cast have been spotted filming emotional scenes, as Jim Branning’s funeral takes place.

John Bardon, the actor who played Jim, died at the age of 75 in September 2014, but the crew have waited for the right moment to close his character’s storyline on the show.

The funeral is being filmed 6 months after John's death

June Brown, who plays Dot Branning, led the cast as they filmed scenes, and it seems Dot won’t be out of jail anytime soon, as June was spotted holding handcuffs on-set.

During ‘EastEnders’ live week, viewers saw Dot taken to prison, when she confessed to murdering her son Nick Cotton.

Despite attempts from her family and friends, Dot is refusing help and looks set to remain behind bars.

Following actor John’s ill-health, Jim was written out of the show in 2011, when his character moved to live in a nursing home. Dot has left the Square to visit her husband on a number of occasions.

“His bravery, dignity and courage in battling against the devastating effects of his stroke were admired by all who had the privilege of working with him.

“Loved by us all, John was an exceptionally talented actor whose humour, mischievousness and brilliant performances made Jim Branning one of Walford’s most loveable, memorable characters and we will miss John forever.”
