Kylie Minogue Remembers Her Neighbours Roots

Before Kylie Minogue was a world-famous hitmaker, she started off as Charlene Robinson in Neighbours. And as the Australian show celebrates its 30th anniversary, Kylie has been getting back to her roots.

Kylie, who starred in Neighbours from 1986 to 1988, recorded a video for Anne Charleston, who played her mum Madge Bishop on the show, which was played for the star as she appeared on This Morning on Wednesday.

Her message was also intended for her on-screen dad, Ian Smith, who played Harold Bishop. But it was Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson), who appeared on This Morning with 'Madge'.

Kylie, looking fabulous with curled tresses in a black and white striped ensemble, said, "Hi Anne, hi Ian. I'm in Melbourne, Australia, not quite at Ramsay Street but Ramsay Street will always be in my heart. Thirty years... I can't believe it.

"What amazing times. I just want to say both of you were so fantastic to work with and you taught me so much. Total inspirations. So I send you lots and lots of Australian love and to all the fans of Neighbours over the years, you took us to heart.

"Happy 30th anniversary... we love you."

She then blew kisses for the camera while looking ridiculously amazing.

Speaking to Amanda Holden and Philip Schofield about working with Kylie, Anne said, "She was great. She's a really good actress. It's rather a shame she doesn't do more of it now, but she is doing rather well." Understatement of the year?

The Neighbours 30th special shows on Wednesday 18 March at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
