Simon Cowell has taken to Twitter to rant about a 'grumpy' passenger who complained about his baby son Eric during a flight to Miami.

The Britain's Got Talent boss was on a flight from London to Florida when the man asked to be moved to another seat after a lot of 'tutting and sighing'.

Simon, 55, Tweeted to his 11.6 million followers: "Just arrived in Miami. The @British_Airways team were great. Eric travelled with us but one really really grumpy man complained. A Lot!"

The X Factor judge continued: "He asked to be moved. Complained to the staff. And there was a lot of sighing and tutting. The other passengers were amazing."

Simon was travelling with Eric – who turned one on February 14 - and girlfriend Lauren Silverman to the States from London after spending time with fellow BGT judge David Walliams, who has recently split with his wife of four years Lara Stone.

Simon said he'd given some words of advice to his friend David, after it emerged that he and wife Lara were on a 'trial separation.'

Speaking to The Huffington Post on the red carpet at the Prince's Trust Celebrates Success Awards, Simon revealed: "I said to him, 'you're not the only person in this situation'. That's a cliche thing to say but it's true. Don't feel too sorry for yourself'."

Simon appeared to confirm the split, which until now has been unconfirmed by representatives for the model and the comic.

He continued: "It's bad news and I feel bad for him but he has to carry on with his life. She's a nice girl... they'll work it out."
