Locust In Sainsbury's Salad Shocks Hungry Stephen Oldham

This Sainsbury's Salad Came With Extra Locust - And It Was Still Alive

A shocked student has shared a stomach-churning video of a giant locust he found in a bag of Sainsbury's rocket salad.

Stephen Oldham, 21, uploaded to video to Facebook showing a clearly live insect moving around inside the bag of leaves.

"That was it really, it was just a normal shopping trip and I thought nothing else of it.

"It was only when I got home and went to put the bag in the fridge that I noticed something moving.

"I couldn't work out what it was at first as it was slightly buried below some leaves and then eventually it came to the surface.

"I just couldn't believe it! There I was with a normal bag of rocket and next minute, there's a whopping great locust!"

He took the bag back to the store after taking two pictures and filming a short video.

A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: "We've apologised to Steve for this - clearly it should never have happened and we have contacted him to make it up to him.

"Our supplier has stringent checks in place on the production line and we will be looking closely at how this occurred."
