The 'Post Modern Skateboard' might sound like the worst possible type of skateboard, but bear with us because on closer inspection it's nowhere near as bad as it sounds.
Appearing in what must be the world's oldest mail order catalogue Hammacher Schlemmer, this gadget appears to be a somewhat fiddly fusion between a pair of roller skates and a skateboard.

Comprising of two independent wheels, the 'Post Modern Skateboard' can then be attached using a single metal rod, turning it into a skateboard.
It actually looks much more fun to use as a pair of sideways roller skates with the video above showing testers weaving all over the place. You would have to work on your technique mind.
