Former Emmerdale actress Adele Silva has given birth to a baby girl.

Her joy comes after suffering three miscarriages in the last five years.

Adele, who played Kelly Windsor in the ITV soap, gave birth on Wednesday, March 25.

A representative for the actress and her fiancé Oliver Farber said in a statement: "AM Concepts UK would like to announce our client Adele Silva has given birth yesterday to a baby girl.

"Mother and baby are doing well."

The brilliant news comes after Adele lost three babies before the 13 week mark.

After a series of medical tests, she discovered she had three conditions affecting her fertility, including a blood-clotting disorder.

When she found out she was pregnant this time around, she had regular injections to protect her unborn baby - but admitted she had not enjoyed her pregnancy, as she constantly feared she would lose her unborn child.

She told Closer: "It's not a case of being miserable, it's about self-protection - and because of that I feel I've been robbed of the pregnancy experience."

Adele added to ITV's Lorraine: "As soon as I got pregnant again, I had this massive plan of action of medication to take, stages to go through hand so on.

"Each stage has been bitter sweet, though, as you're like, 'Brilliant, we've got to this point' but you're still not completely out of danger zone."

She added that 'it's always at the forefront of [her] mind that something could happen', but that she appreciated how lucky she was.

Congratulations Adele and Oliver!
