Luckily Labour's "Better Plan" for a "Better Future" included AA coverage - their battle bus has broken down on the first day of the election campaign.

The two-litre silver Fiat Scudo Panorama failed to even make it out of the party's headquarters following the Prime Minister's request that the Queen dissolve parliament.

It will be a bad first day for the Labour Party if their main campaign vehicle fails to hit the road, putting them a step behind their rivals.

At least they chose a sensible-sized vehicle, as opposed to Nick Clegg who chose a massive coach that couldn't turn corners.

And, y'know, they didn't choose a pink bus, which was probably a good idea.
