Microsoft's New Surface 3 Tablet Arrives, Will Run Windows 10

Microsoft Unveils Thinner Surface 3

Microsoft has unveiled the Surface 3 tablet, a smaller, thinner version of the Surface Pro 3 which was first announced in May 2014.

The Surface 3 has been designed as the smaller, more portable tablet/laptop hybrid in the Surface range. While it doesn't offer the same raw power of the Pro 3, the Surface is still able to run Windows 10 (when it's launched later this year) and Office seamlessly.

Microsoft is targeting the Surface 3 not as a replacement for your power machine, but instead as a replacement for your notebook making it ideal for students or bloggers.

Key Features:

  • 10.8-inch 1920 x 1280 screen
  • Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor
  • 8.7mm thin
  • 622g
  • Full-size USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort, microSD™ card reader, Micro USB charging port

The Surface 3 will come with a full range of accessories including the Surface 3 Type Cover and Docking Stand.

You'll be able to pre-order it on the 31 March and then buy it on the 7 May. There's no word on UK pricing but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.
