Sony's New Xperia Z4 Looks Remarkably Like The Xperia Z3

Sony's New Xperia Z4 Is Almost Identical To The Xperia Z3

Sony has unveiled the Sony Xperia Z4 in Japan and at first glance you'd be forgiven for wondering if there's a mistake with the imagery.

Well there isn't, the Z4 is clearly a subtle upgrade of the Z3 rather than the complete overhaul that the iPhone 6 was over the iPhone 5.

Sony has instead focused on making the Z4 more portable by shaving off 0.4mm from the depth while making the phone lighter as well.

Elsewhere there's the same 5.2-inch Full-HD display (no 2K display like the Galaxy S6), and 20.7MP camera on the back. Sony has upgraded the front-facing camera from 2.2MP to 5.1MP while including image stablisation for those all-important selfies.

The Z4 has also been given something of a hardware upgrade with a powerful new 64-bit Qualcomm 810 processor helping keep it on par with the competition.

Finally Sony has turned the Z4 into a fully-fledged hi-res audio player which you'll be able to enjoy through either the headphone jack or through the micro-USB port with Sony's hi-res headphones.

It'll come running the latest version of Android 5.0 Lolipop and, thanks to Sony's new PS4 Remote Play functionality you'll be able to turn the Z4 into a portable screen for you PlayStation 4 console.

There's no word on an official UK release date for the Z4, or indeed an international release date however as soon as we hear anything we'll update this post.
