Over the weekend, the dance act seemed genuinely overcome when they were chosen as Ant and Dec’s ‘golden buzzer’ act, automatically gaining a fast pass to the semi-finals of the show.

However, they’ve been forced to defend themselves from accusations that they had “deceived” ‘BGT’ fans, after some viewers noticed that Boyband had already appeared on Sky1 reality show ‘Got To Dance’.

Speaking about the criticism, group member Dylan tells Digital Spy: “It's not fair. We didn't deceive anyone, it's not like that at all.

“We entered ‘Got to Dance’ and it was a great competition to do, and now we're on ‘Britain's Got Talent’. It doesn't put us at an advantage at all.”

Similarly, magician Jamie Raven was forced to deny having an advantage after it emerged that he had performed tricks at a party attended by Simon Cowell.

Although Jamie did admit that the music mogul had been at an event he had performed at, he insisted to the Daily Star: “I donated my time to perform at the event… I didn’t do any tricks for Simon that night, though.”

Meanwhile, it sounds like Simon has big plans for Boyband, after Amanda Holden revealed that he was looking to turn them into the next big all-singing, all-dancing pop group, despite the fact their initial audition didn’t contain any live singing.
