I Tried The #KylieJennerChallenge, Got Scared And... Improvised With Lipstick

I Tried The #KylieJennerChallenge So You Don't Have To

I have a confession to make, I'm a little bit in love with Kylie Jenner.

I love the blue hair, the fabulous sheer all-in-one she wore to Coachella, but most of all I just luuuurve that pout. And it seems I'm not the only one.

While the 17-year-old explicitly states that her lips are au naturel, that hasn't stopped young girls trying to emulate her look by placing their lips in jars and sucking as hard as they can to make them swell up.

And, being the fan girl that I am, I couldn't help but jump on the #KylieJennerChallenge bandwagon. I mean what else is there to do on a news desk on a Tuesday afternoon?

So I took one ex-chutney jar from my desk drawer - don't worry it had been washed and was being used for storing nuts, which I'd eaten - and placed it over my lips. Then, I sucked as hard as I could.

Sound painful? It was.

I sucked for long enough to take a series of selfies, for my desk mate to start hysterically laughing and to pose for a side-angle shot (to get the chutney label in full view, obvs).

But after about 40 seconds my lips started to tingle and I panicked. I didn't want to end up with bruising or swelling, I mean I've got to get the Tube home alone and I'm 26 years old.

So I spat out the jar. What was left was a red ring around my lips, but nothing as bad as some of the horror pictures from the hashtag.

Instead I applied a generous amount of lipstick and ended up looking quite like Kylie Jenner after all. Dontcha think?
