'Britain's Got Talent' Pulls In 11.9 Million Viewers, Making It The Highest-Rated Show Of 2015

More Amazing News For 'BGT'

Britain’s Got Talent’ continues to go from strength to strength after Saturday night’s episode was named the highest-rated show of the year.

Over the weekend, 11.9 million viewers tuned in to the ITV show, making it 2015’s most-viewed programme, pulling in more viewers than ‘EastEnders’ live week or the finale episodes of ‘Broadchurch’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.

This Saturday’s episode saw an increase of 44,000 viewers from the previous week, and featured a whole host of weird and wonderful acts including a hula hoop extraordinaire, a piano-playing nun and a dog hypnotist (though we must admit the latter didn’t quite impress us like we thought it would).

Amanda Holden also became the third act to hit her golden buzzer, giving choir Revelation Avenue a fast pass to the live semi-finals, following their performance of Katy Perry’s hit, ‘Roar’.

They will join singer Calum Scott and dance act Boyband, who have both received the golden buzzer earlier in the series.

Revelation Avenue

It’s been claimed that music mogul Simon Cowell - who is one of the show’s producers in addition to being a judge - has big plans for Boyband.

During an interview on ‘This Morning’ last week, Amanda Holden claimed Simon wants to turn the dancing five-piece into the next big, all-singing, all-dancing pop band, after quizzing them about whether they could sing backstage after their audition.
