‘Top Gear’ presenters Richard Hammond and James May are in communication with the BBC about working together on future projects, it has been claimed.

The pair have both indicated that they won’t be returning to ‘Top Gear’ following the sacking of their co-presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, with Richard saying: “Amidst all this talk of us 'quitting' or not: there's nothing for me to 'quit'. Not about to quit my mates anyway.”
However, James was quick to point out that although he was quitting ‘Top Gear’ he was “not quitting the BBC”, which makes it all the more interesting that both he and Richard were snapped outside the studios on Wednesday.

BBC Two controller Kim Shillinglaw told Radio 4’s Media Show: “Conversations are ongoing with James and Richard about a whole variety of projects at the BBC.
"While those conversations are ongoing, they have to remain private."

Jeremy was famously sacked from the BBC motoring show last month following a bust-up with a producer, and with three spots now open on the ‘Top Gear’ presenting team, speculation is mounting over who could fill his shoes.
Jodie Kidd is reportedly one of bosses’ top choices to co-host the show, and she was seen out for a drink with Jeremy earlier this week, sparking rumours that he had given her his blessing.
Her ‘For The Love Of Cars’ co-presenter Philip Glenister is also thought to be on producers’ wishlists, as is ‘Broadchurch’ actor Will Mellor, who it’s reportedly hoped will bring in some new viewers to ‘Top Gear’.
