Pizza Delivery Driver Stabbed And Carjacked... But Still Delivers His Pizzas

A pizza delivery driver still managed to deliver his pies with a collapsed lung after being stabbed in the back and carjacked.

Josh Lewis of Louisville, Kentucky, is recovering in hospital after someone attacked him and stole the vehicle he was using to deliver pizzas for his job at Spinelli's Pizzeria.

Rather than go to A&E, Lewis stuck by his employer and made his deliveries on foot before heading to the hospital.

Lewis, 25, suffered from a collapsed lung and is said to be doing well. His employer is currently fundraising on GoFundMe to pay for his medical bills.

"It's surreal. I can't believe it happened to him," regional manager Willow Rouben said. "As he was taking the pizzas out of his car and walking to deliver the pizza, he was stabbed in the back. Believe it or not, he got his pizzas delivered and collapsed in the ER.

"I don't think it was really directed at a pizza delivery guy, I think he was just a victim of opportunity, of circumstance.

"He's just a sweetheart. He's a sweet kid and we're just so sad that this happened to him," she added. "Our hearts are broke. We just want him to be OK."

Police officers say the suspect, described as a black man in his 40s, jumped into Lewis’ black Jeep Cherokee on 3 May at around 2:45pm and drove off.
