Oculus has unveiled the final design for its virtual reality headset the Rift. The company has also announced that the Oculus Rift will have a release date of early 2016.
Created by Palmer Luckey, the virtual reality headset was first unveiled to developers back in 2012 offering what it claimed as the first consumer-ready virtual reality experience.
That claim turned out to be harder to prove than first thought, however four development kits later and the company believes Rift is finally ready for the public.
Since its inception the company has seen some drastic changes from being bought by Facebook to seeing the competition drastically increase.

The final version of Oculus Rift is heavily based on the final development kit and will come with a number of new features including support for sitting and standing.
There’s no word on UK pricing, or indeed whether you’ll be able to use the Oculus Rift on a device other than a PC.
