Top 10 Universities In The UK For Job Prospects

A recent study by the Complete University Guide shows which UK universities are ranked the best for job prospects.

  • 1 Imperial College London

    In at number 1, Imperial College London is officially the top University in the UK for job prospects. The University specialises in science, engineering, medicine and business and holds a number of ‘Careers Fairs’ each year. 89.9 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.
  • 2 St. George's, University of London

    At number 2 is St. George's, University of London, a specialist Medical School located in Tooting, South London. 89.4 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.
  • 3 Cambridge University

    Cambridge was ranked in 3rd place for top job prospects, despite being the number one University in the UK. According to the Complete University guide 'The Cambridge University Careers Service, has the highest student use of any careers service website (more than 95 per cent of finalists are registered)' 88.3 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.

    The University of Bath is 4th in the list. 85.1 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.

They have a strong ‘Careers Network’ as well as an 'Alumni Leadership Mentor Programme' offering their students the opportunity to receive one-to-one mentoring from high-profile Birmingham alumni. 84 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.

    At number 6 is the London School of Economics (LSE) 83 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.

    Ranked at number 7, it may come as no surprise that the prestigious Oxford University has a wide range of specialised 'Careers Services' offered to each student. 81.9 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.

    Cardiff University comes in at number 8. The university located in the heart of Wales excels in Humanities, Physical, Social Sciences, Engineering and Technology. They also have a strong ‘Careers and Employability Centre’ with a professional team of specialist career consultants and advisers. 81.5 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.

    At number 10 is the University of Surrey in Guildford. They hold two large 'Careers Fairs' and offer daily opportunities to meet with employers. 81.2 per cent of students are in employment six months after graduating.
