Hull Midfielder Tests Positive For Cocaine

Jake Livermore tested positive for cocaine, it was revealed on Friday. The midfielder failed a random drugs test after Hull City’s draw with Crystal Palace in April. He now faces a lengthy ban.

Livermore will miss the final two games of the season, with the Tigers currently languishing third from bottom requiring points to stay in league.

He signed for the Yorkshire club in 2014, costing £8million from Tottenham -- a club-record fee. Livermore, who appeared once for England during a match against Italy in 2012, was one of Hull's key players last season, helping the club reach the FA Cup final while retaining their place in the English top division.

Despite an indifferent season, the loss of the midfielder will prove a huge blog for Tigers' manager Steve Bruce. The club is expected to release a statement on the situation before the weekend.
