‘EastEnders': Alfie Moon Receives Brain Tumour Diagnosis Ahead Of Walford Exit

EastEnders' Alfie Receives Devastating News Ahead Of Exit

EastEnders’ Alfie Moon received the devastating news that he has a brain tumour in Thursday night’s episode of the soap.

The character - played by Shane Richie - went into denial about his diagnosis and will be hiding the secret from his wife Kat (Jessie Wallace) as the pair leave Walford in tonight’s installment.

Alfie Moon receives devastating news

Alfie discovered the news after going for a medical ahead of his move to Spain with Kat.

After he was called back for a follow-up appointment, an MRI scan soon discovered a suspicious mass on his brain, and further tests are required, to find out if it is malignant or not.

But it seems Alfie will choose not to find out his fate, as he is determined not to spoil his happy ending with Kat, following their recent reunion and subsequent £1 million scratchcard win.

"Just when you think they're finding happiness, something like this happens. The audience will know, but no-one else will."

Fans know that while Kat and Alfie are leaving ‘EastEnders’, it is not the end of the characters as they have begun filming a six-part spin-off drama series which is set to air next year.

Shane was recently forced to assure fans that the characters will eventually return to Albert Square after reports suggested he had quit the soap for good.

‘EastEnders’ airs Kat and Alfie’s temporary departure tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
