King's Cross Station Evacuated As Bank Holiday Getaway Begins

If you were hoping to slip quietly away for a cheeky bank holiday break, think again.

London King’s Cross station was evacuated on Friday afternoon after a fire alarm was activated.

Officers from British Transport Police, the London Fire Brigade and the Met were called to the scene as commuters were ushered outside.

The station was reopened at around 4.15pm, though Network Rail advises delays are expected until 5pm.
