Touching Organ Donation Advert 'The Man And His Dog' Will Make You Want To Register Today

This Will Make You Want To Register As An Organ Donor

Are you a registered organ donor? You'll want to be after watching this touching advert titled The Man And The Dog.

The advert shows an elderly man going about his business with his dog constantly by his side.

One fateful day the man is rushed to hospital. His loyal dog waits in the rain outside the emergency room door, but sadly his owner never comes out.

But then the doors open and a young woman is brought out in a wheelchair. The dog seems to recognise her and runs over to greet her - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the woman has, in fact, been been saved thanks to his owner's organ donation.

N'aww.

The ad has been viewed almost three million times on YouTube in less than a week and has certainly got us reaching for our tissues.

It was made by the Argentinian branch of DDB advertising agency - the company behind the tear-jerker John Lewis Christmas ads - on behalf of an organ donation charity in the country.

Although the advert ends with details of how to register as an organ donor in Argentina, its message is most definitely relevant to audiences here in the UK.

Only around a third of Brits have joined the Organ Donor Register, yet more than 10,000 people in the UK currently need a transplant.

You can find out more about registering on the NHS website.
