The Show.... it must go on.

Fifa President Sepp Blatter’s role looked perilous following Wednesday’s indictment of 14 people, including members of Fifa’s executive committee, on charges of corruption by the US Department of Justice, but he didn't think to acknowledge it.

He said something about "earning back" trust, but it was difficult to recall much else over the beatboxing, the dance performances, the yodeling, and the very long horn.

Thursday as he spoke for the first time at the opening of the organisation's 65th Congress in Zurich, the circus of a sporting body he has overseen, was overshadowed, by, well, a circus-like performance of colourful performers.

There was no burying one's head in the sand. It was time to celebrate.
