Protein World's Controversial 'Beach Body' Advert Features On New York Skyscraper

Protein World Advert Is Back And This Time It's On A Skyscraper

Just when you thought you'd seen the back of that Protein World advert, it has well and truly returned.

This time, the ad - which stars bikini-clad Australian model Renee Sommerfield and asks onlookers whether they are "beach body ready" - is plastered on a skyscraper in New York.

Last month, the advert designed to promote weight loss aids caused controversy when it featured across public transport in London.

Around the capital, posters of the ad were defaced by feminists and body image campaigners alike, who claimed that the advert promoted a culture of body-shaming.

A series of mock ads were also released, including one created by swimwear retailer Swimsuitsforall, starring plus size model Ashley Graham.

The company posted their version of the advert on social media with the caption: "Yes we are. ALL bodies are #BeachBodyReady."

So far, it's unclear whether the Protein World advert will get the same reaction in New York as it did in London, although some in the states have suggested us Brits "overreacted".

One thing's for sure, drawing graffiti across this ad isn't going to be easy.
