Trooping The Colour Sees Prince George Steal The Show At The Queen's Official Birthday

It's The Queen's Official Birthday But All Eyes Are On Prince George

It may have been the Queen's official birthday today but frankly it was all eyes on her great-grandson at the Trooping The Colour ceremony.

The little prince, who will turn two next month, was every inch the professional royal, smiling and waving at the crowd from his father's arms.

He was also spotted later beaming cheekily from the palace window in the arm of his nanny.

Prince George looked pretty darn adorable as he watched the rest of the parade

Four generations of Royals were present on the balcony for the Queen's official birthday

George was dressed in a light blue shirt and shorts - a outfit which Kensington Palace later revealed was the same one worn by Prince William for the Trooping The Colour ceremony when he was a child in 1984.

There were four generations of the Royal family present on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the annual event with Prince George, the Duke of Cambridge, the Prince of Wales and the monarch herself all in attendance.

Other Royals present included Prince Harry, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Andrew and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

The Queen and Prince Philip passed cheering crowds in an open-top carriage while Prince William, Prince Charles and Princess Anne rode beside each other on horseback in the parade. The Queen herself used to ride on horseback until she changed to carriage in the 1980s.

'That's my daddy!'

That'll be one for the family album

It was also the Duchess of Cambridge's first public outing following the birth of her daughter Charlotte on May 2, although there was no sign of the little princess.

The Queen's actual birthday was on April 21, when she turned 89. However, her official birthday is always celebrated nationally on the second Saturday in June when the weather is usually reckoned to be more predictable.
