Nintendo's Star Fox Makes Iconic Return At E3 2015 But No Sign of NX Console

One Of Nintendo's Most-Loved Characters Is Finally Back

Nintendo has announced the return of one of its most-loved characters, Star Fox, in a new stand-alone game for Wii U.

Unveiled on a Nintendo Direct livestream during E3 2015, Star Fox Zero is an all-new game that'll feature the same rail-based gameplay that made the Nintendo 64 game Lylat Wars so iconic.

Nintendo traditionally doesn't hold press conferences at E3 and this year was no different. Instead the company opts for a livestream during which they announce the games and hardware that'll be available over the next 12 months.

While Star Fox was arguably the biggest announcement it had been expected that Nintendo would talk about its new games console Nintendo NX.

Instead the games company offered little in the way of Wii U content, and said nothing of the NX suggesting that Nintendo's new next-generation games console was now the focus of game developers.

The Wii U has struggled to gain traction since launch, however Nintendo is calling 2015 a 'transformation' period between the Wii U and the NX.
