Three teenagers will appear in court on Monday charged with the murder of schoolboy Jordan Watson who was found stabbed to death in a cemetery.

Jordan, 14, was discovered in a secluded part of St John the Baptist Church cemetery in Carlisle, Cumbria, by a member of the public on Tuesday morning. He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his head and neck.

George Thomson, 18, Brahnn Finley, 19, and Daniel Johnston, also 19, all of Carlisle, were charged on Saturday and are due to appear in Carlisle Magistrates' Court.

Jordan's family paid tribute to the boy, who, they said, lived by the motto Yolo - "you only live once".

They said the Liverpool Football Club supporter, who had been a "loving and caring child", "would never walk alone".

In a statement issued by Cumbria Constabulary, the family said: "Jordan wasn't perfect, he was though the most loving and caring child that anyone could meet.

"He had the best sense of humour. Jordan's favourite expression was 'Yolo' - you only live once. Jordan lived by this motto, he had a strong personality and a love of the outdoors."

The family added that Jordan was strong willed and "could not be talked out of doing something he really wanted to do".

A 16-year-old arrested in connection with the killing on Thursday was released on police bail on Saturday.

Police don't believe he was directly involved in the murder and said he had co-operated "fully".

Jordan was last seen at a friend's address in Carlisle at around 11pm, Tuesday, and police believe he was later murdered in a "secluded" area of the cemetery.

Police would not comment on why Jordan would have been in the cemetery.

Jordan's friend, Lauren Blakey, 16, earlier said that the teenager "did not deserve to die" as she laid a floral tribute outside the cemetery, the Daily Mirror reports.

The paper reports that she then said: "He was such a kind-hearted boy. I can't believe it.

"I just keep thinking he is going to come round the corner, bouncing and lively.

"Everyone loved him. He was easy to get on with."

His auntie Lisa wrote on Facebook: "Your cheeky smile and laugh will live in our hearts forever"

Detective Superintendent Andrew Slattery, who is leading the investigation, earlier said: "Jordan has lost his life as a result of a savage and brutal attack which has shocked the officers working on the case.

"For a child to die in these circumstances in Carlisle is appalling. The offender or offenders must be apprehended and I appeal to any members of the public with information to come forward."
