'Photoshop The Nipple' Is A Hilarious Solution To Ridiculous Censorship Of Women's Bodies

Social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram are well known for their lack of tolerance when it comes to women and their nipples.

In the past, campaigns such as #FreeTheNipple have tried to highlight the double standards regarding the censorship of female breasts. But the battle wages on.

Now, one artist has taken things a step further with a simple yet effective campaign that calls out just how ridiculous these policies can be.

Basically, if you can't free that nipple, then you should Photoshop it instead.

According to Instagram's policies, "some photos of female nipples" are allowed to be posted on the site, and "photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding are allowed" - Facebook's policies also echo this.

To get around this, Micol Hebron, from California, has created a simple campaign that allows women to cut out a picture of a male nipple and Photoshop it onto their bodies.

"Here you go – you can use this to make any photo of a topless woman acceptable for the interwebs," wrote Hebron when she created the image last year and posted it on social media.

"Use this ‘acceptable (male) nipple template’, duplicate, resize and paste as needed, to cover the offending female nipples, with socially acceptable male nipples (like a digital pasty). You’re welcome."

Despite originally posting the image in 2014, it has recently gone viral after artists Our Lady J and La Sera shared it on their Facebook pages.

Well if you can't beat 'em, Photoshop 'em.
