It had been previously claimed that James had used a slur towards two men, during an Essex pool party, however bosses are now confident that the alleged incident did not take place.

A spokesperson for Lime Pictures, who produce 'The Only Way Is Essex', has told HuffPost UK: "We have concluded our thorough investigation and are satisfied that no racial abuse took place during filming on Wednesday, 1 July."

The news that he has been cleared of the incident comes one year after James returned to ‘TOWIE’, following a temporary suspension, which came when he was suspected of possession of a class-A drug.

He later confessed to possession of the class-C drug, ketamine, returning to the docusoap three months later.

But James isn’t the only ‘TOWIE’ member to have landed himself in hot water.

In the past few months, Gemma Collins managed to get herself temporarily suspended, following a blazing row that erupted during a taping in Marbella, while Dan Osborne was axed, after audio footage of him making violent threats towards his ex-girlfriend surfaced online.

Meanwhile, Mario Falcone was also given his second ‘TOWIE’ ban, back in May, reportedly due to promoting a slimming pill on social media, which is said to have breached his contract with the reality series.
