Noel Gallagher Says He Despairs Of Music Industry, Asking 'What Are We Left With?' Once 1990s Bands Retire

Noel Gallagher Isn't Happy, In Fact He Despairs.

Noel Gallagher has never been loathe to speak his mind, and now he's turned his withering tongue on the state of the music industry, saying he despairs.

Speaking with XFm at T in the Park, the High Flying Birds frontman explains he can't envisage a future for the music industry, asking "What we we left with?" once the current tranche of 1990s bands retire.

While many fans continue to hold out for a reunion between Noel and his estranged brother Liam for an Oasis comeback, it doesn't look in danger of happening any time soon, with Noel ruling the prospect at "one per cent chance".

No reunion in sight for Noel Gallagher and brother Liam, with Noel saying he doesn't need the money

In an interview with Italian Radio Citta Futura, he added: "There would have to be extraordinary circumstances, cause I wouldn't do it artistically. I don't need the money. I don't need the records sales. I can't think of a reason that I would look to do that. What would be the point? I don't know. I don't see what the point would be."

The brothers parted acrimoniously in 2009 while on tour, with both going on to form their own bands following Noel's solo album debut in 2011. He continues to front the High Flying Birds, while Liam has previously been with Beady Eye. Noel has hinted he'll be starting work on a new album in the next few weeks.
